Brief information on RUSAL VAMI

RUSAL VAMI® - "the Russian National Aluminium-Magnesium Institute", an open joint stock company, was founded in 1931. Since 2003 it is a part of the Russian Aluminium company (RUSAL).

RUSAL VAMI offers an expertise in carrying out the R&D and engineering projects in the light metals industry and has Russian and International certificates to conform to ISO 9001-2000 standards. Over 40 industrial establishments for production of alumina, aluminium, magnesium and carbon products were constructed based on RUSAL VAMI design and engineering services in the former Soviet Union and in foreign countries (China, Turkey, Egypt, India, Israel, Jugoslavia, etc.).

An annual production at the above facilities are as follows:

•  alumina over 6.5 mln.t
•  aluminium over 4.0 mln.t
•  magnesium over 120,000 t

Over 460 patents from foreign patent offices were granted for inventions of the RUSAL VAMI employees. Over 100 licenses were sold to foreign companies for the rights to use some of the above inventions.

• RUSAL VAMI will perform the research project, prepare feasibility and engineering studies at any stages for both the grass-root projects and the existing plants upgrading.(Contacts)
